Astro is currently showing Beezlebub on channel Animax 715 and I happened to noticed the ad for this new anime. I curiously watched the first episode on Youtube and now I'm so hooked. It's just hilarious and anything that gives me a good laugh is always in my good books.
Beezlebub the anime is based on the manga written and illustrated by Ryūhei Tamura. Basically the story starts with the "strongest juvenile delinquent," Oga Tatsumi, who is a first year in "Ishiyama High," a school for delinquents; telling the story of how he found the baby to his best friend Furuichi Takayuki.
One day while doing laundry by the river (actually, taking revenge on people trying to kill him in his sleep), he sees a man floating down it. He pulls him to shore and it splits in half which reveals a baby boy inside. This boy is the son of the great demon king and he has been chosen as the one to raise it with the baby's maid Hilda. The story follows his life with the child and at the delinquent school. (taken from wikipedia)
What is so funny? Well, it's funny when you watch Oga reluctantly, trying to look after the baby. The baby demon will get cranky, cries and electrocute him all the time. So when you see a naked baby stucked on this rough, menacing, gangster-looking kid... and then electrocuting him. It's not just funny to me; it's hilarious.
Come on... doesn't this scene just looks funny? Lol
There are some funny moments which involves a weird inter-dimensional transport demon with Oga's best friend. But it's the butt-naked baby with his temporary earth father which attracts my attention. It's also funny that they portrayed the devil a silly demon who is too busy with competitions, mahjong, games in hell that he decided to send his infant demon child to destroy earth eventually.
I find it so entertaining that I watched 10 episodes in one night and thankfully, streaming that night was amazingly decent.. Lol. Hope there is enough seasons to watch or not I'll have to start reading the manga. ;)

On a side note, the world "Beezlebub" means a Semitic deity that was worshiped in the Philistine city of Ekron. In later Christian and Biblical sources he appears as a demon and the name of one of the seven princes of Hell. (so says wikipedia).
In the meantime, yes, new hobby needed and no, it's not time to get a baby. Lol
