32 weeks!!

Babycenter tells me this:

My baby now should weigh approximately 3.75 pounds / 1.7 kilograms and is about 17 inches / 42 centimetres long from head to toe. Although his lungs won't be fully developed until just before birth, your little one is inhaling amniotic fluid to exercise his lungs and practice breathing.
Some babies have a head of hair already, others have only a few wisps. Thick hair at birth doesn't necessarily mean thick hair later on but children with fine hair in childhood usually have thinner hair in adulthood.

If your baby is a boy, his testicles should be descending from his abdomen into his scrotum. Sometimes however, one or both testicles won't move into position until after birth. In two-thirds of all baby boys who have undescended testicles at birth, the condition corrects itself by the boy's first birthday.

You're probably gaining a pound / 450 grams a week, largely because your baby is likely to gain more than half his birthweight during the seven weeks before birth. Make sure you are eating well in these last few weeks.

Anyway, my next doctor's appointment is next week so I'll know my baby's progress then. Meanwhile, I try to keep my eyes open as I'm unusually sleepy all the time these days and keep on trying to talk to my baby to grow strong, healthy and ready to come out when I am pushing.. ;)

Baby kicks

In week 18: I haven't really feel the kicks but more like the baby's movements.

I tried recalling the comments other mothers say about feeling their baby movements.
"Bubbles".
"Flutters in the stomach"

After these few weeks (months), I only can describe my baby's kicks as "nudges in my tummy". Perhaps he is more subtle and not so active yet. :)

In week 28: My baby kicks whenever I sit or sleep in a position he doesn't feel comfortable in.

I will tell him "Sorry" and try to find a position where he doesn't kick.
However, when I play music to him - he also kicks at specific songs. I wonder it shows his dislike or like? Lol (Blur mummy here)

I was talking to another mummy whose pregnancy is about the same time as mine except hers is a girl. She tells me she talks to her daughter since the very beginning.

She can even ask her daughter, "Where is your legs?"
Then her daughter will kick in her tummy... That is so cute!!!

So far, I've only press gently into my tummy and count according to the number of times I press in. Sometimes when he is active, he will react back by kicking the same frequency. :)

Whatever it is, I guess this bonding time is precious because it's only a time where the mummy really connects personally to her child. He or she lives inside the safe confines of the mother's womb and hears her soothing voice daily. I thank God for this precious cargo and experience which I hope I will remember for the rest of my life.

There he goes giving me a nudge which makes my tummy wobbles! ;)

Happy pregnancy to all mummies out there! :)

Babycenter Updates on Baby Size

Oh my.. I only started signing up to baby center 2 weeks back based on a suggestion from a mummy friend. Babycenter will send you short emails with links to update you on your pregnancy progress. Today I stumbled upon a very adorable link/update.

The title of the page/slide show is called "Poppy seed to pumpkin: How big is your baby?"

Isn't that adorable? Comparing your baby growth size to a fruit!! I find the illustration very useful although I personally haven't seen a rutabaga here.

The last fruit compared is as follows:

Before you deliver your baby, it should be the size of a small pumpkin! Imagine carrying a small pumpkin/melon in your womb for the last few months... walking around.. the gravity pull, stretch marks, strain on your back.. etc.

Whatever symptoms you have, mummies out there endure the pain and fatigue to finally meet their precious little one... :)
